The prophet Isaiah paints a word picture of God's people extending their roots deeper in order to be more fruitful for Him. The place for us to put down our roots is into the living headwaters flowing from God Himself. We can tap into the headwaters by digging deeper into the Word of God, inviting the Holy Spirit to impart revelation and illuminate our undertanding.
The Headwaters Bible Institute (HBI) offers challenging, foundational studies through a curriculum of 10-week courses presented in the academic quarter system. First-year students study systematic theology from a charismatic perspective. They learn the Biblical basis for Christian beliefs concering our Triune God (God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit), the creation, fall and redemption of mankind, the kingdom church, angels and end times. Concurrently they experience the work of the Holy Spirit enriching their understanding of God and the work He is doing in their lives and the lives of those around them, and discovering their spiritual gifts and callings.
Classes for second-year students lead them into a deeper intimacy with God and a deeper study of God's word. Simultaneously, they become equipped and are encouraged to use their spiritual gifts in the various ministries at Activation. Ultimately, students desiring to enter into full-time ministry will receive foundational teaching that is appropriate and targeted for their specific calling of pastor, teacher, prophet, apostle, missionary, evangelist or worship leaders.
Activation Ministries International was inspired to create Headwaters Bible Institute to educate and equip all those who are eager to learn more about the Christian faith, regardless of their spiritual maturity. Whether you have walked with the Lord for years or have recently entered into a life with Christ, HBI was created to minister to YOU. HBI's vision is to equip its students with God's truth and send them into the world with a solid foundation on which to build their lives.
Activation Ministries International has a passion for the love of God and the truth of His Word to transform seven important facets of our society: government, economy, media, the arts, family, religion, and education. HBI desires to attract and equip not only students who want to enter full-time ministry, but also people who want better grounding in Biblical truth and Christian beliefs in order to help transform the world around us. Winter Classes begin Wednesday, January 13th, 2010.
Classes will be offered for 10 weeks in one three-hour session per week from 6:45pm - 9:45pm. First year students will take the two classes, "Discovering/Knowing the Heart of God: Systematic Theology from a Charismatic Perspective I" and "Prophetic Keys to Unlocking the Kingdom Within You: Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts."
Students who have already taken these first-year classes will take "The Secret Place: Achieving Deeper Intimacy with God", and "An Expository Journey through the Book of Acts" (a detailed study of the Book of Acts with activation labs and ministry included).
For both 1st and 2nd year students, we have scheduled a Saturday Intensive on January 16, 2010. Dr. Paul Spilsbury will be returning to lead us in a study of Hermeneutics (the study of the principles of interpretation of the Bible). We strongly encourage all HBI students to attend this important teaching.
